After the birth of our son Doug, we moved from center city to Gladwyne. Our parish church was St. John Vianney. After worshiping for a time at St. John Vianney, we realized this was not the parish where we thought Doug would learn to understand and appreciate the Catholic religion. I was troubled because when I was growing up you could only belong to the parish church according to where you lived. Knowing I wanted Doug raised in the Catholic faith, I went to see Father Jim Martinez, O.S.A., at Our Mother of Good Counsel. After explaining our problem, he welcomed Steve, Doug and I to Our Mother of Good Counsel parish. Because of Fr. Jim, Doug was raised in the Catholic faith.

Needless to say, Fr. Jim truly teaches and lives the Catholic faith.
