Patrick Brala (Villanova ’89, EMBA ’97)

We were introduced to the Augustinians when we entered Villanova University in the mid-1980s. We were struck by the sense of community at Villanova—a reflection of the Augustinian values that permeate the campus. Living so close to the University, Villanova and the Augustinians have become an integral part of our lives and our faith. Fr. John Stack, O.S.A. officiated at our wedding and Augustinian Friars baptized our children. We are blessed to be members of the St. Thomas of Villanova Parish community and continue to participate as active alumni in the life of the University.

We have contributed to the Augustinian Fund for the past 15 years. We used to think that when we supported Villanova and our parish a portion of our gift benefitted the friars. However, when we accepted an invitation to an Augustinian Fund Kickoff event at Villanova University 15 years ago, we realized that the Augustinians support themselves and need our help to sustain their lives and ministries. There was no reason not to contribute.

We value dearly the influence the Augustinians continue to have in our daily lives. They have been a blessing to us, and we are happy to support them!
