Join the Augustinians on April 24, 2020!
It’s no coincidence that the Augustinians chose April 24th to launch our inaugural giving day and that we’ve named this day, Tolle Lege Day. During this 24-hour fundraising event, we will come together as a religious and lay community with one mind and one heart to celebrate the Augustinian Charism and all those who share in it. Listen to Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, O.S.A., Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, share the significance of the date and name of our Augustinian giving day.

What is Tolle Lege Day?
Tolle Lege Day is the Augustinian Friars’ annual day of giving. On this first Tolle Lege Day, our goal is to reach 500 donors in a 24 hour online fundraising event to support the friars and their ministries. We will come together in one mind and one heart as an Augustinian community to celebrate and bring awareness to the Augustinian Charism and the friars who have made a difference in our lives.
When is Tolle Lege Day?
Tolle Lege Day will take place on Friday, April 24, 2020, as we celebrate the feast of the Conversion of St. Augustine.
Why "Tolle Lege"?
Tolle Lege means “take up and read.” These are the words that moved St. Augustine to pick up the Scriptures (St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans) and find his way to faith and ultimately to his Conversion.
How is Tolle Lege Day different from #GivingTuesdayOSA?
Tolle Lege Day is a giving day specific to the Augustinians where #GivingTuesdayOSA is a global day of giving in which thousands of nonprofits participate. The Augustinians will host Tolle Lege Day annually and will no longer participate in #GivingTuesdayOSA.
Is my Tolle Lege Day gift tax deductible?
Yes! Your gift is tax-deductible as prescribed by law. You will receive an email confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
What will Tolle Lege Day gifts support?
Tolle Lege Day gifts support the same priorities of the Augustinian Fund—the care of our elderly and infirm friars, vocations and formation, the Augustinian Volunteers, the Augustinian Defenders of the Rights of the Poor and our Augustinian Foreign Missions. In addition, gifts will support the Augustinian Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
No. Gifts of any amount are welcome and count for Tolle Lege Day. It’s all about your participation!
Are there other ways to make a gift instead of online?
Yes! You may call [this number] and provide your credit card information. You can respond to our Tolle Lege Day direct mail appeal which will be received in early April. Responses can be mailed before April 24th and count toward Tolle Lege Day.
