About Randy Foye
Randy Foye graduated from Villanova University with a degree in geography in four years while playing basketball for the Wildcats. In his senior year, Foye helped carry the Wildcats to their best record in a decade. He led the Wildcats with an average of 20 points per game as the team went 14-2 for its first Big East regular season title since 1997, and 24-3 overall heading into the tournament. The Wildcats earned their first #1 NCAA seed in program history and advanced to the regional finals before falling to the eventual champion Florida, 75-62. Foye was named the Big East Player of the Year and a consensus All-American, only the second consensus selection for the school since Paul Arizin in 1950. His jersey was retired by Villanova in 2011.
Foye was selected seventh in the 2006 NBA draft, the highest Villanova selection since 1965. He first became a guard with the Denver Nuggets but has also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2006-2009), Washington Wizards (2009-2010), Los Angeles Clippers (2010-2012), and Utah Jazz (2012-2013). In 2007, he was an NBA All-Rookie First Team selection.
Having lost both his parents by age six, Foye has seen first-hand the difficulties for kids growing up in a tough urban environment. In 2008, he established the Randy Foye Foundation (RFF) to raise funds and develop programs and projects aimed directly at improving the lives of the children in Newark, his hometown. Foye understands firsthand the difference a positive role model and nurturing environment can make in a young person’s life. Through Foye’s own story and contacts in the worlds of professional sports, entertainment and business, and working hand in hand with the corporations and people of Newark, the RFF serves as an example of what a grass roots movement can accomplish through special events if everyone is focused on working hard and giving back.
In addition to founding the RFF, Foye also serves as the president of the Friends of Nova (FON), a fan-driven and alumni-led Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) program for Villanova University. Commitments to Friends of Nova, maximize opportunities for student-athletes to build their brand and earn compensation.
Randy is married to his wife of 12 years, Christine (Villanova ‘07) and together they are the proud parents of three daughters: Paige, Penny, and Pilar. They reside in Red Bank, New Jersey.
